Bosses
LUCIFER
Lucifer, king of the Inferno is a three-headed devil-like creature with large attacks that span his entire arena. He is the final boss of Inferno.
Lore
"In frozen depths where darkened wings entwine,
Lucifer weeps, for his betrayal dims his shine.
Though cast from grace, his heart is a mournful plea,
He yearns for divine mercy, drenched in tears of agony."
- Excerpt from the Commedia (Not finished!), from the great poet Dante.
Lucifer was once part of the highest tier of the celestial heirarchy. He had many names and was revered as a guardian of God. He was beloved and cherished for his wisdom. However, pride and ambition drove him to defy authority. Because of his sins, he went from the radiant Morning Star to God's adversary. Now, in the the frozen depths of Cocytus, he weeps with remorse and longs for forgiveness. To repent, Lucifer vows to crush anyone who defies God by attemtping to escape the eternal damnation of Inferno.
Personal Mechanics
General
- Lucifer raises his arms and marks a trapezoidal area in front of him, slamming down and damaging those caught in the zone.
- Knocks players back with a gust of wind from his wings after each phase, then turning the ground to ice.
- Spawns three elites whenever he cast one of his three main attacks: Frozen Hate, Eternal Sorrow, and Last Betrayal
Phase 2
- Lucifer will periodically mark 3 random players with a circular damage area, after a short amount of time, and icy tear will drop onto the marked area, dealing damage. Carries over to phase 3.
- He can quickly spawn a soul crystal on top of players that can knock them around. The crystal will periodically unleash a wave of damage around it and will linger indefinitely on the field until destroyed. Carries over to phase 3.
Phase 3
- Lucifer can mark up to two random players with a circle. Six players, including the target, will need to stand in to mitigate the damage to the marked player.
Raid-wide Mechanics
His three main attacks include Frozen Hate, Eternal Sorrow, and Last Betrayal each with their own unique capabilities. Lucifer's attacks have two main phases: "casting" and "ready". During the casting phase of an attack, players must complete the attack's corresponding mechanic in order to avoid damage. During the ready phase, the attack will be triggered. If the mechanic is not completed during the casting phase, the damage cannot be avoided.
Frozen Hate
During the Frozen Hate attack, Lucifer will do heavy arena-wide damage with six vertical columns of damage from the middle outwards. During the casting phase he will be bound by shackles on each wrist and destroying a shackle during the charge-up will result in one safe area on the side the shackle was broken i.e. destroying the left shackle will create one safe area on the left side. Failing to destroy the shackles will result in unblockable and unavoidable damage.
Eternal Sorrow
During the Eternal Sorrow attack, Lucifer will do heavy arena-wide damage with three rings of damage that appear from the top of the arena to the bottom. During the casting phase Lucifer will drop twenty crystal tears. Destroying all the crystal tears will cause the zones to be staggered to allow a safe area from the bottom ring -> top ring -> middle ring in that order. If all the crystals are not destroyed in time, there will be no safe area created and the damage will be unblockable and unavoidable.
Last Betrayal
When Lucifer initiates the Last Betrayal, three spectral elites will spawn, and the arena’s attacking range is divided into three distinct lines: Left, Middle, and Right. After the casting phase, Lucifer's heads' eyes will glow red, indicating which lines will be targeted by the upcoming attacks. The key to surviving this attack lies in defeating the spectral elites. For each elite killed, one safe spot is created during the subsequent three attacks. The safe spot is determined by whicever of Lucifer's heads does not have glowing eyes. For example, if the left head's eyes are not glowing, the Left line will be a safe zone during one of the attacks. Strategically take down the elites and observe Lucifer's heads after the casting to maximize your chances of survival during Last Betrayal.
Adam & Eve
Adam & Eve are the final bosses of Purgatorio
Lore
"In Eden's heart where blossoms gleam,
God's perfect creations in a hollow dream.
Sublimated, they roam carefree,
Untouched by cognizance, in harmony."
- Excerpt from the Commedia (A work in progress!), from the great poet Dante.
In the perception of God, Adam and Eve are the epitome of perfection. They dwell in the Garden of Eden, shielded from the world's corruption, and revel in ignorant bliss. Devoid of independent thought, they exist in ignorance of knowledge, their minds untouched by it. They function solely with the inner dogma their creator, a truth woven into their very essence. They are resolute in their devotion, prepared to defend the gates of Paradiso with unyielding fervor.
Personal Mechanics
- (Phase two and three?) Can target four to seven random players and mark them with a rectangular zone that is damaged after a short delay
- A number of random players can be marked with a donut zone around them that is damaged after a short delay
Adam
- Can summon a rotating fan of damaging circular leaves
- Can spawn three seed projectiles that home in on players, typically does this attack when Forbidden Knowledge is going to be the next attack
Eve
- Can fire beams of leaves that target two to four players
- Can summon a danger area around her in the shape of a donut
Raid-wide Mechanics
Adam & Eve's three main attacks include Remembered Virtues, Forgotten Sins, and Forbidden Knowledge, each with their own unique capabilities. Their attacks have two main phases: "casting" and "ready". During the casting phase of an attack, players must complete the attack's corresponding mechanic in order to avoid damage. During the ready phase, the attack will be triggered. If the mechanic is not completed during the casting phase, the damage cannot be avoided.
Remembered Virtues (Fruit)
Eve starts summoning Virtue Fruits from the edges of the arena. Virtue Fruits slowly make their way towards Eve. If a Virtue Fruit reaches Eve it is absorbed, increasing Eve's Virtue meter. You must destroy all Virtue Fruits before they reach Eve and before the casting bar fills up. Once the casting bar is filled, depending on how much Virtue Eve has absorbed, a Storm of Leaves covers the entire arena, dealing unavoidable, unblockable damage. However, if enough Virtue Fruits are destroyed, safe zones appear inside the Storm of Leaves, which itself now rotates. Position yourself in a safe zone and move with it to avoid damage.
Forgotten Sins (Symbols)
Adam & Eve will combine, and three symbols will appear above their head. These symbols must be destroyed in the correct order—from left to right, as they appear above Adam & Eve.
Each symbol has two spawn locations.
After this, six "bushes" containing the symbols will appear. Guiding markers will also appear at the edges of the screen, pointing you toward the location of each symbol
Forbidden Knowledge (Poison AoE)
